The Beginning
In late 2009, Fall semester at Boise State University, my buddy Dan and I were in positions where we were looking for good jobs and studying electronics. A job making somewhere around $10 per hour would have been enough to keep us satisfied as young adults at age 19. We were following a love for science and gaming, we were both interested in how we can positively impact others and enjoy our own lives as much as possible! You would think that a straight A student would be able to get a good job solely on the premise of high intelligence. At least that's what I thought...
We grew anxious about the state of our social environment all over the world while we were continuously looking for opportunities to improve our own lives. I began looking for a way to make my work ethic and desire to help the world an opportunity in itself. We decided that the corporate world's bottom line was truly the cause of many of our current problems, in fact it became obvious to us that it was causing problems even bigger than those only concerning us. We decided that we wanted to influence a change but in a positive way, that is how we decided going rogue was the best option. To us going rogue was like being real-life heroes! We wanted to influence people and the systems to be more ethical and equal. Our plan was to create a network of businesses that were concerned with preserving individual rights and emphasizing the importance of consideration.
We started growing our circle of influence and we openly ask for feedback to keep our actions and motives transparent. We are not hiding the fact that we want to gain external power or gain a better grasp on creating a positive environment. With great power comes great responsibility and some corporations have succumb to greed as their motivation. Obviously not all are this way and we are very supportive of those entities that show concern and care for people and the environment.
